Open Source Licenses

The open source software that removes Gemini watermarks on Gemini Watermark Remover, its licenses, and where to get the source code.

Last updated: 2026-10-24

Gemini Watermark Remover removes watermarks inside your browser with open source software written by other people. We did not write the removal engine and we have not changed it; we only built the page around it. This page credits the authors, lists the licenses and links to the source.

The removal engine

  • Gemini Watermark Remover by GargantuaX, npm package @pilio/gemini-watermark-remover 1.0.46. It finds the visible Gemini sparkle and reverses the alpha blending that put it there, for images and videos. License: MIT.
  • It is a JavaScript port of Gemini Watermark Tool by Allen Kuo (allenk), who worked out the reverse alpha blending method and calibrated the watermark masks. License: MIT. His write-up: Removing Gemini AI Watermarks: A Deep Dive into Reverse Alpha Blending.
  • The video cleanup pass uses the FDnCNN denoising model as exported by the Gemini Watermark Tool project (ONNX, MIT).
